I got mine yesterday :) I think I'm in love already! Now I need to fill it up with books lol

What is everyone reading right now or what do you suggest?

Mine is loaded mostly with free books from B&N. I hate to admit it - but I've only read like 3 books on it since I got it last month. I just can't seem to adapt and keep going back to my books!

I just finished "Home in The Morning" yesterday and loved it! Much like "The Help". Southern historical fiction. Except when I got to the end I did the "That's it?!?" :D

Gosh I miss my Nook. Love the iPad, but reading on it just does not compare to reading on the Nook. Much easier on the eyes!

Enjoy! You will love it for a long time to come. I bought my mom one for her birthday last week.
She believed she could, so she did.

Is color really worth it???
I thought that unless I had young children needing picture books or comic books (DH would love that), the color wasn't really necessary.

On the other hand I'm currently reading the Lyra series by Patricia C Wrede. Just finished the Temeraire series by Naomi Novak and have been reading so much more now that I don't have to bring lots of heavy books with me everywhere.

I have been looking at the Nook for Tom (relying heavily on comment here at PNM!), and decided against the color one only because it has a much shorter battery life per charge and the user can't replace the batteries, at least according to the website comparison. It sure is good looking, though!

I chose the color for a few reasons:

It's beautiful to read on
I like that it's a multi function device; the browser is super fast and IMHO it rivals the iPAD( 7 inch vs 10). Of course the iPad has a ton of things the Nook does not.
The Nook plays music
It has a built-in backlight
Nook can get books from the library, B&N and through the "lend me" function

The battery life is significantly shorter if you keep the wifi on all the time.

I love my Nook for all the reasons below. If the web browser is better in the color that might be a plus but mostly I don't use it for web just reading enjoyment. I do like that I can get library books tho!

We're (as in dh and his siblings) are getting MIL a Nook color for Christmas. I'm getting a regular (refurbished) Nook - it came yesterday.
