Favorite Classic Novels & Old Movies?

Favorite Classic Novels & Old Movies?

I think I am going through a phase in which older things appeal to me more than new ones do -- or perhaps there just isn't much really good new stuff out there lately.

What are your favorite classic novels? My all-time fave is To Kill a Mockingbird, and I would love to find another that I will love that much. I also really love Sense and Sensibility. (I know, I'm a sap, but I can read that one over and over.)

Also, what are your best old-movie recommendations? Generally, I'm not a huge fan of black and white, but I have a feeling that I am missing out of some great flicks by ruling out b&w. I have never seen Casablanca, so I will be starting with that one. I did see Mockingbird with Gregory Peck and liked it.

Tammy, I have to find a copy of To Kill A Mockingbird for Dallas for school. I was hoping to find a free copy for the kindle but that didn't happen. It's only $3 to download but right now free is my friend. :/ Still cheaper than the fines I'd inevitably have to pay at the library.

I did find a LOT of free classic novels. Pride & prejudice, The Scarlet Letter.... so many awesome reads.
