Someone calm me down...

Postby Maelyn » Thu Oct 06, 2011 3:15 pm

I just spent near $1000 on clothes.... yes it's two interview suits and some very nice work shirts but

that and Lesley will be proud of me... the shirts ALL have patterns.

I'd need calming too. Where did you shop?

And remember, it'll be worth every dime if it lands you a new job, right?

I think I'd be passing out! I need new "cooler weather" clothes. I'm about to start shopping, but Troy needs not know about it! LOL

Pictures please! I have no idea what a career wardrobe looks like these days.

I need to work up my resume and try to find a part-time job. It's tough since I've been "retired" from engineering for almost 9 years now. Ii niche marketed myself out of a job. And with DH actively seeking other employment is it worth the effort?

Think of it as an 'investment". There - now do you feel better?

Bet you look nice! (but yeah, holy cow!) I've been out of the professional corporate environment for 18 years now. Glad I just get to wear scrubs now to work. Much cheaper! (and way more comfier, esp the footwear, lol!)

I will get Tev to take photos when I'm dressed up for the interview this morning... I do feel better about it being an investment but I swear I've not spent that much on close in 5 years much less one day.

I have to admit I do love the jacket and skirt and I feel like a million $ in one of the outfits so if I get this job it will all be worth it.
Wish me luck today.

Good luck!!

I was venting to my sister the other day: I need new pants for work, but I have a hard time plunking down $70-$150 for one pair that will probably fade after a year. Ditto for shells, sweaters and jackets.

Thank goodness for Ross. I scour the racks there constantly.

WOW! I take it there weren't any sales, LOL. I would look at it as an investment too.

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hooray for you! It sounds like although it was difficult to spend the money, it was a fantastic investment. I bet you look smashing, and that's got to help increase your confidence!

I can't wait to see pics and hear about the interview.

If they make you feel great, then they are a good purchase. Not a deal, but a wise choice. Also, clothes of that quality should last a long time without looking worn or dated. Go get 'em!
