Re: Making lunch for kids

I have not made lunch for my kids in many years. I expect them to be able to get their own lunches. Once in a while I will make something for lunch, say fajitas, and ask if they want some but usually it's every man for himself. edited to add, and also dinners too. Because of the hours I worked the p...

Re: What is on your grocery list?

Heba, what exactly is mince and what do you do with it? All that comes to mind is mincemeat, and that's not a very popular thing in the US, they make pies with it but I never heard of actually wanting to eat them, lol.

Re: Clotheslines/washing lines

our township here (like many others in suburban Pennsylvania) has strict guidelines as to what a homeowner can and cannot do to their property. Anything extra you get want added to to your house has to be approved, whether it be a fence, a shed or a deck. You can't just paint your house hot pink and...

Re: Clotheslines/washing lines

They are actually against many town's or neighborhood homeowner "laws". In other words, you aren't allowed to have them depending on where you live. I imagine OK in country settings, but not in most suburban or urban areas. I've never lived anywhere where they have been allowed, everyone j...

Re: Easter Sunday traditions

This year is a bit different b/c my husband is down in Houston. I'm up here with all 3 boys since Matt is also on spring break and then I have to probably drive him back on easter sunday afternoon, to college. That being said, we usually play at the 9:30 service with our music ensemble. It will be n...

Re: OMG snow on the way...

we are on the very outer outer bands of this storm, only expecting 1-3". Thank goodness! I hope this isn't going to turn into another Superstorm Sandy situation, b/c isn't this covering some of the area in NY/NJ that was devastated by Sandy?

Re: Who's going to have a White Christmas?

18" ugh! I think we ended up with about 5" of snow here and that caused enough havoc on the roads! So GLAD I took him back b/c the cover story of the paper was all the traffic accidents and slow traffic caused by the storm. Matt will be back again before he goes back for classes, they star...

Re: Who's going to have a White Christmas?

white Christmas one day late! We got hit with the same system that brought snow to Northern TX & Arkansas, bringing with it blizzard like conditions at times. I decided to make an executive decision and drive Matt back to WVU last night after working 3-11 at the hospital. He needed to be back to...

Who's going to have a White Christmas?

Well technically if it doesn't snow tonight (40-50% chance) we can still claim a white Christmas b/c there are some snow remnants on the ground from the snow on Fri.

This probably will be our last ever White Christmas. I'm OK with that!

Re: Update those old siggies, please!

Sue it's so easy. I use photobucket. Just upload a photo and you can add effects (frames, etc). Copy the link for the IMG code. Paste that into your profile here.

Re: Holiday fun: Tell me about your elf

Frankly I'm quite relieved that this came into vogue long after my kids would be into it. It'd be one more thing to keep up with every night! Heck I was so bad as the tooth fairy, I'd never remember to move the damn elf every night!!
