Re: All-time favorite movie?

Hard to say but I honestly think The Godfather is probably the best movie of all time. Part I and II. Never seen the 3rd either b/c I heard it wasn't very good.

Re: What TV shows do you watch?

I have a few favorites I will watch - Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, True Blood (but this last season pretty much sucked, no pun intended), Survivor, the Voice, 19 kids and counting (yes my taste is quite diverse), Haunted Collector, and my new favorite fall show is Sleepy Hollow. Oh, also I like t...

Re: Really stupid question on higher learning?

Hollie, from my understanding, a post baccalaureate certificate is not the same as an actual master's degree.

Re: Do you still have your wedding dress?

Yes I have mine, although it's not a dress, it's a tea length suit (complete with peplum, lace, poofy shoulders and beading). And I was almost devastated with this latest move b/c I could NOT find it as I unpacked. I'm not an overtly sentimental type person AT ALL, but this just about did me in, if ...

Re: TV spinoff -- how many sq. ft. per person?

I am so happy to downsize I can't even tell you! I love our one story home and love the floor plan, it is really well laid out. I don't miss having stairs or having extra floors to keep clean or heat/cool. The only real complaint I can think about this house (minus missing our beautiful huge deck) i...

Re: TV spinoff -- how many sq. ft. per person?

Biggest house we owned was our last one, main 2 floors was 2700 sq foot, add in finished basement for about another 1000 sq feet, so around 3700 total. Our current home is 2380 sq feet, and it is JUST perfect for one kid at home and 2 parents. Will be the perfect size to empty nest in. One less bedr...

Re: What do you think about R movies in middle school?

Middle school? Seriously?? I think that's pushing it, to be honest. When my middle son was a senior in high school, we had to sign a permission slip for him to watch Argo, the movie about the Iran hostage crisis, for AP Gov't. I cannot imagine that schools would actually ask for an R rated movie to ...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

one other story about getting rid of stuff... When we lived in Green Bay, we had a gas dryer, had to buy it new and so we used it for exactly 2.5 years, and then moved to PA in 2004. Only electric dryer hook up again, so the basically brand new gas dryer sat in our garage for 9 years. I tried also d...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

Julie, I had to throw away an old loveseat, an old sofa, and two chairs because you cannot donate furniture that has any stains or defects. We freecycled some stuff that people did take from our curb on trash pick up day (an old desk and chair) but the old sofa/loveseat/chairs, nobody wanted. St vin...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

I think my husband is sure that cassette tapes will someday be a collectible item! Even those old maxell mix tapes! :P I have to say there is some point to hanging onto stuff, because I've noticed some things just aren't as well made nowadays. Case in point, our little hand mixer, got it for a weddi...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

Added to say, we did recycle a couple old PC's and an old hand me down MAC from my BIL that never even worked... I insisted we do it before we moved, and we bought them into best buy. My husband still has his cassette tape collection (even those mix tapes he made) from the 1980's. And a pair of moto...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

Sue, you don't understand my husband, the old TVs all work. So why get rid of them? It's not like we're desperate to unload them. Even I wanted to keep our old square 32" (super chunky and huge) in our TV armoire in our bedroom, so we can watch movies and such. We don't have a cable box hooked ...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

I never allowed the kids to have tv's in their bedrooms. Just a rule I had. I hear ya Wanda, and I'll let you know all know why we let this rule slide. 1) old tv's. You can't get rid of them. You can't throw them out. You have to wait for that one day a year (or 2 if you're lucky) when your town/ci...

Re: How many TV's and Where?

Let's see... 2 large flat screens, one in the family room and one in the game room, 2 old Tv's in each of the 2 bedrooms that Ryan and Danny use, and then an old one in our bedroom that is just hooked up to a DVD player. So 5?

Re: Keratosis Pilaris

Danny's occasionally gets a little red but being a boy, he really doesn't care nor is he self-conscious. He has all the way down both arms, back and chest. Mine is really nbd.

Re: Keratosis Pilaris

Danny has this, on his arms and trunk. It's not really a big deal, yes his skin has bumps on it but it doesn't bother him. My nephew has it as well, and I have it to a certain extent on my upper arms and thighs. It's very common I believe. We don't do anything for it.

Re: Doing laundry for kids

I like Betsy's answer... I do the laundry b/c I like to do it and I'm anal about it. But the boys know how to do it. I don't even like dh doing it. I even like to do Matt's laundry for him when he comes home. Count me the weird one I guess! It's just one of those things I really prefer to be in cont...
