Re: Favorite PnM memories?

The trivia games were fun... and when WP became the Sisterhood of the Travelling Smut books.

We had some interesting trolls... but I remember most the ability to ask about anything and get an answer even though sometimes it wasn't what I wanted to hear ;)

Re: Paying someone to pick up and drop off your kids

I'll ask around. I know several families that have college kids do some level of driving of kids from school to afterschool activities.

Re: Driving

Oh yea... I was actually calmer when Cam first started. I could deal with the parking lot thing. It wasn't until he started on actual roads that I started getting super stressed being the car with him. He had no choice but to switch back and forth between our van and my C-RV for much of his learning...

Re: teen jobs/teen spending money

Late to the party here... but I'm with Esther on this one. Cam wants to get a job to have more spending money - he has an allowance that is the current inflation rate equivalent of what I had at his age. I'm trying to talk him out of it. He already has choir, college, and acting after school. He is ...

Re: How far ahead...

I know my mom used to make dough months in advance and freeze it in wax paper and zip locks. She'd make rolls and then just unroll and slice and bake. Not sure if that would help or not but might make it easier later.

Re: Do you love your vacuum?

We have a Kirby and have had it since just before Keefe was born. I still love the unit. The sales guy tried to sell us a new one but really ours does just as well now as it did 11 years ago. It has the HEPA filtered bags too.

They are pricey but given how long they seem to last, worth it IMO.

Re: What TV shows do you watch?

We watch Dr Who (BBC), Downton Abbey, Bones, NCIS, and we just started on Agents of SHIELD which is turning out to be very funny if you've seen the Marvel movies over the last several years. But all of that is watched either on HULU or Netflix or PBS/NBC/CBS online. We are never home to watch at the...

Re: Do you still have your wedding dress?

I think so. It was preserved in a box and I'm sure moved with us from MN but I have no idea where it might be right now. Probably the disaster we call a garage. With three boys I doubt any of them will wear it ;) Maybe a grand-daughter at some point.

Re: Doing laundry for kids

When we got a front loader.... before that none of them could reach into the bottom of the washer. They have been responsible for folding and putting them away since they were about 3 or 4 I think. Of course that now means that they are often shoved in and wrinkled. I still do each boys' choir unifo...

Re: Making lunch for kids

With Cam and Keefe - they have been on their own for lunches when home since about age 8 or 10. Tev is a different matter because with his hypoglycemia we have to ensure that he eats before he sugar crashes. We remind and try to get him to make his own. About 60% of the time he does. The other 40% h...

I've had them with sprouts in them that were good... and in the UK I seem to remember some with a salmon (thinly sliced) or something like that.

Re: Good series for 10 y.o. boy?

NERDs
Wired
The Guardian Series
The Seems

Those are the ones that Keefe is currently reading and he too just started really reading about 6 months ago just before he turned 11. Not that he couldn't but he didn't do it for fun of his own accord till recently.

Re: Watch Question

I'm the opposite as I prefer a smaller watch. DH got me one for my birthday this year. It's a citizen with eco-drive. No batteries ever again as it runs on solar power... we'll see. But I like it.
