Re: Extreme Couponing and possible challenge

I just can't imagine NOT cutting coupons. I mean - they add up and who doesn't want to spend less? I cut out lots - but don't use but maybe 1/2 of the ones I cut out. I don't cut the ones for stuff we don't use, but I will cut them for things we might need/want. If I don't use them, I trash them. I ...

Re: Tell me about your fireplace

We have both. In our den, library and foyer we have gas - they are SO convenient. Just push a switch and "poof" - instant fire. They are our heat source in the winter and will keep a small room quite toasty. Gas bill is not awfully high - but it does jump a good bit when we run them almost...

Re: Extreme Couponing and possible challenge

I'm a pretty hard core coupon user - but not to that extreme! I do try to get the most bang for the buck by combining sale items with coupons. I usually save about $30/week with this. Works for me!

Re: ? About Transferring i-Tunes Library

Thank you for that link!!! We've got all of our iTunes on the computer I use for keeping the church (and other books). I was thinking about moving the library to a different computer (it is backed up on an external drive), but wasn't sure how to do it. This is perfect!!!

Re: What size are your schools?

Man y'all have some big schools!!!

Our grades have about 90-100 kids per grade. So the high school has about 400 students.

Re: coffee maker - what do you have?

We have a Braun. DH's only requirement for his coffee maker is an insulated pot - and at the time - that was the only one I could find that had one.

Re: Boost vs Ensure - quick help

I had to drink Ensure when I had my jaw wired back in high school. As I recall - it was pretty nasty. Especially the walnut flavor.

Re: underweight kids?

I gotta agree with the others - if she's a healthy eater and kid, I wouldn't worry about it. I can't fathom it, but some people are just *small*. Sounds like she may be one. I'd much rather focus on good habits and healthy foods than weight (with either a bigger or smaller kid).

Re: Tween hygiene

Ellie is 10 1/2 and showers daily. She has no interest in how her hair does. Which is a shame - she's got a gorgeous head of hair that could be quite beautiful. She will rarely put it in a ponytail or a hairband - usually when she's playing a sport.

Re: Spinoff - Are you a touch typist?

Janet - the 10 key (though it is a dying machine) is a trick of our trade. I can burn one totally out. People will stop and watch when I run the one at church counting money at church on Sundays.

I can't imaginge not touch typing either. THough 12 years of piano helped me with that alot!

Re: Hair styling for boys?

Janet - it is SO curly. Since I couldn't even get a perm to work in my hair, I am at a loss as how to deal with it. One day I will have to scan a high school picture of Jay - his hair was so long and curly!

Re: Hair styling for boys?

This is why I'm glad Jacob keeps his shaved (he gets a #1 guard cut). His got long once, but because he doesn't do one thing with it, it was horrible. We won't go there again! Ben has let his hair grow out. He officially has an afro now. I have spent more on hair products for him in the past 3 month...
