Re: Hobbies

I need to put down the phone and the iPad and resume this. The internet is a time killer for hobbies for me!

Re: Hobbies

I had a goal - to have a big framed sampler for each of my kids that when they moved out they could take with them. Am 2/3 of the way done. I have everything to do the 3rd one and have for ages. The question now would be ... where did I put it???

Re: Fluff -- what you hate

I did say Maelyn that I have great water - so I know I'm spoiled.

Well - I do not like fruit. Never have ... never will. I don't HATE it and *will* eat it. Sometimes. Berries are ok.

But for real, I hate citrus fruit. Pulp....ick

Re: Fluff -- what you hate

Actually - I don't like (I won't say hate) bottled water. I think it is dumb. I'm spoiled because we have good water where we live. But to drink water out of a bottle when you have it for free out of your tap is crazy to me!

Re: Anyone seen any good movies?

I see maybe one movie a year - so I'm not sure I'm a good responder to this!

But I will say I listened to The Martian as an audio book and LOVED it. Really wasn't expecting to but it was great and I've heard that while the movie isn't 100% true to the book, it is also really good.

Re: What's for dinner this week?

Well - I tried to do one a week. usually Saturday night when I had the time to think, shop and prep. Probably really like 2-3 times a month. It got kinda fun actually.

Re: Hobbies

This made me realize..... I have no hobbies!

Most of my free time is spent with Ellie's sports. She plays year 'round and has 2-3 games of whatever is in season every week. I would so love to pick up cross stitch again - even have the next project and all the stuff to do it. Just no time!

Re: What's for dinner this week?

Well - with the boys gone, my cooking has changed drastically. We eat a lot of salads, soup and other "light" stuff. I've gotten quite lazy. Esme - I used to try a new recipe a week when I was cooking full steam. I found that anything "new" was received with lukewarm reviews the ...

Re: Roll Call?

It is amazing to see how "old" our kids are now. Seems like just yesterday we were talking about diapers and starting school!!! I love hearing what everyone's kids are up to... Jacob is almost 20 and did a year in school after graduation that he liked but his grades were terrible. So he's ...

Re: Grey hair advice needed

I'm lucky - at 50 I have only a few gray hairs. And when I think about it, I pull them out. But I really don't care when/if I go gray. Though I don't think I much will. At 75 my dad still has only a little gray hair and I think I inherited his and not my mom's hair (who is really gray). that said - ...

Re: Does anyone know about websites?

I have a website on Weebly - and if *I* can do it - then anyone can. There was a learning curve to set it up and figure it out - but now that I'm familiar with it, it is SO easy and I update/change it regularly. I'm sure there are fancier hosting sites, but I really recommend Weebly.

Re: Sam's Club or Costco?

I have both and rarely use either.

Costco - beware - they don't take credit cards except for their AMEX. So you have to do debit or check.

Re: Is Anyone Presbyterian?

Glad you liked it, Hollie! I guess that goes to prove that you have to try different things. Yeah - in a small church, a visitor is very "obvious". We give ours a visitor bag that has fresh local honey and info about the church. Then someone from our "Bake-and-Take" committee dro...

Re: Is Anyone Presbyterian?

I grew up Presbyterian and am now Methodist. I visited the Presbyterian church when we moved to the town we lived in and just didn't like the "vibe". Loved the Methodist church feel and congregation - and that's where we've been for 16 years now. I like what Betsy said. I think you have to...

Re: rules on eating and drinking around house

We don't allow it either. Not that it *never* happens - but for the most part, it doesn't.
